apparently there's a fairly reliable pc engine/cd/fx emulator called mednafen http://mednafen.sourceforge.net/ that offers netplay. I've heard it's a little confusing to get running, but that might be bypassed with the program pcejin http://code.google.com/p/pcejin/

so would anyone be interested in playing via emulator online? Depending on demand, nullity's agreed to make a netplay forum, which I think could be pretty cool. We could have contests and such for bragging rights, (and perhaps when the user base grows, prizes of some sort) or just co-op for fun.

I'd be up for it, but my simple mind would probably need some sort of direction as to how to get it set up.

I'm a glutton for punishment. Scruffles, if you can get this figured out and throw together some instructions, everyone can take turns soundly whuppin' me at most any multiplayer title.

I'd probably join in at some point, if I knew what I was doing. Netplay sounds awesome!
